Sing London

National_theater

You may have heard the phrase, now a popular Italian proverb, coined by Don Quixote author Miguel de Cervantes: ‘He who sings frightens away his ills’. Well, if you’re anything like most of the contestants convinced that they’re the next ‘Pop Idol’, you’ll also frighten away any most of the people around you as well. But, say the organisers of Sing London, no matter – singing is not just for the Sylvia Young graduates, it’s for everybody.

Yes, whether you’ve got a voice like Katherine Jenkins at the Last Night of the Proms or Delia Smith giving it some at Norwich City, Sing London wants to show how this humble pastime is not just fun, but a brilliant part of community life. During Sing London, as well as resounding through schools, workplaces and landmarks around the capital, music will be filling the number 38 and 73 buses...

The festival will reach a crescendo on 8th July with a singalong on the South Bank. Tune in, tune up, and get the NavPix here
