Sunday the 1st July, the day millions across the UK have been dreading, is finally upon us and Britain bids farewell to smoking in enclosed public places. Whilst non-smokers will be looking forward to coming home after a night out without smelling like they’ve rubbed their head in an ashtray, expect plenty out there to be cursing the smoking ban.
Fortunately (or not, depending on your view point), Floridita, the Cuban-themed restaurant and bar in London has found a way to take advantage of a loophole in the legislation which allows cigars and pipes to be ‘sampled’ in specialist tobacconists. The venue is separating its Cuban cigar shop from the main bar and restaurant so that diners and drinkers will be able to go inside to savour an illicit smoke - as long as you’re ‘sampling’ one of their cigars or pipes, presumably.
