How Picture Yourself There Works

Picture Yourself There is all about locations. Beautiful, fascinating, educational or just plain curious. Use Picture Yourself There to give you ideas for minibreaks and day trips, or for things to see and do when you’re looking to brighten your day: restaurants, exhibitions, farmers’ markets, great gigs, theme parks, haunted houses, secret gardens… every day we’ll be letting you know about something, somewhere that you just have to see.

But Picture Yourself There is not just about telling you where to go – we can tell you how to get there too. Use NavPix technology, and you can be directed straight to any location on the blog with a single click…

Picture Yourself There has been created by satellite navigation pioneer Navman.

NavPix technology

NavPix technology allows you to navigate to pictures – all you need is a NavPix enabled sat nav from Navman, and some inspiration from Picture Yourself There.

A NavPix is simply a digital image of a location, with the exact geographical coordinates embedded into it. There is a NavPix featured on every post in this blog, and if you have one of the latest Navman devices you can visit each and every spot without needing to know the address. Just connect your Navman sat nav to your computer and download whichever NavPix takes your fancy onto it, so that whenever you’re ready to set of on your journey all you need to do is touch the image on your GPS screen. Visit www.navman.com to choose from a selection of NavPix-enabled devices.

And Picture Yourself There isn’t the only place you can experiment with NavPix - there’s an entire NavPix library to explore. Featuring images of locations created with the help of travel gurus at Lonely Planet alongside, as well as NavPix uploaded by other Navman users, you can find everything from fantastic European holiday destinations to lovely local hotspots.

Tell us about it

If you’ve visited Navman’s NavPix library, you’ll know that NavPix technology is all about sharing. If you find a great destination, you can create your own NavPix – either by using a Navman sat nav, or even by using a digital picture and the correct address details – and post it on the Navman library for other Navman users to download and visit.

And because we love to share, we want to hear about your favourite locations too. If there’s an amazing spot that you think everyone should know about, simply click on the ‘Let Us Know’ in order to contact the Picture Yourself There team. Give us as much information about your chosen location as possible, and we’ll try to squeeze it into the blog.
